At 32, married and with two children she obtained her year 12 school certificate.Working as a clerk with the Department of Civil Aviation while living in Papua New Guinea, made her determined to fulfill her ambition to become a nurse. Returning to Australia with her husband and two children, she became a general nurse, a midwife and later a psychiatric nurse where she worked most of her life. Her changing vicissitudes forced to re-enter the workforce aged 64 when everybody else was exiting.
